Let's get Christmas-crafty!

OK! So I saw the most adorable Christmas card hanger at Target the other day, but it was $19.99. Now...I am totally a sucker for Target, but if it's over $5 then fortunately I lose my knee-jerk reaction to buy whatever I see! Anyways, I decided I could probably make one myself for much cheaper! And yes, I was completely successful at a craft project from START TO FINISH! Now mind you, this is a project that a 5-year-old could do, but it's still an achievement for me! I am not one of those mamas who can create an amazing masterpiece without any crises. THERE IS ALWAYS A CRISIS! So, if you are the sort of person who is a little craft-challenged like me, then this is the perfect project for you!

To start, I just bought a pack of plain clothespins at the Dollar Store. I try to do a lot of my craft purchasing at the Dollar Store -- that way I don't feel too bad when the whole thing goes to pot!

Then I found some Christmas themed scrap-booking paper, and mounting squares that I had stashed away in my craft cabinet.

Next, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out rectangles the exact size of the clothespins. {If you don't have a Cameo, you'll have to cut it by hand. It'll work just as well, but it'll just take you longer.}

Then, I used the mounting squares to adhere the scrap-booking paper to the clothespins. SO SIMPLE!

To finish off the project, I used my Cameo to cut out a large snowflake to put at the top of my Christmas card hanger. I don't really care about putting holes in my wall so I just used two pushpins {one at the top, one at the bottom} to hold a piece of twine in place. I doubled the twine just so the clothespins would have a little something more to hold on to.

I used the mounting squares to stick the snowfalke on the top pushpin...and VOILA!

Christmas card hangar for maybe $2. However, this still does not mean that I will be ending my Target addiction anytime soon!

Brilliant chap.

I am so proud of my hubs! For starters, medical school is stinkin' difficult and I'm so proud of him for how hard he works! I surely could never do it! Last November he won the Carbon Gillaspie award for the best performance in the anatomy block! Then, just a few days ago, he received the Gottesfeld Memorial Award for doing so well in the science courses! He doesn't like to brag, so that's what I'm for her! We love you, Zachy!

 About to receive his award!

What a stud!

i'm a little scared...

Alivia has a couple of new favorite toys! They include a computer mouse and her baby monitor? I'm not sure what her fascination is with these two things, but she loves them! What's even more weird is that she really only likes them because she wants to WRAP THE CORDS AROUND HER NECK. Like I said, I'm a little scared! I've provided proof below!

Thankfully we've never had a serious issue with this new hobby, but we definitely are on the lookout constantly! Babies are weird, but luckily this one is super cute too! :)

two years and counting...

Oh my goodness! I can't believe that it has been two and a half years since I have posted on this blog! But, now that we have Livy Loo, I want to do a much better job at documenting things in our lives! I stink at remembering dates and events, so if I write them all down, I'll be able to share them with Alivia later on! :) Hurray!

Anyways, fall is here!! Yippee! My absolute most favorite time of year! It's time to break out the sweaters, apple cider, and Leaves scented candles from Bath and Body Works! Heavenly! I can tell our little munchkin is going to enjoy fall quite a bit as well! Yesterday she was able to spend time at the park with Mimi and Greg! They managed to snap some adorable pictures of her enjoying the cool weather!

We just love this little one!

Hurray for fall!
